Gina Sicilia has been wowing audiences across the globe throughout her decade-long career, with no plans of slowing down anytime soon. Considered a true rising star in the blues world, her debut album, Allow Me to Confess, brought her worldwide acclaim and a Blues Music Award nomination for Best New Artist. This accomplished singer, songwriter and performer continues to demonstrate a powerful work ethic and passion for her craft.
On her sixth studio release, Sunset Avenue(EP), Gina manages to raise the bar even further. Recorded in her native Philadelphia by Grammy-winning producer Glenn Barratt, the album showcases her inimitable, distinct vocals as she throws down a musical gauntlet of power, grit and energy. Her emotional and often deeply personal songs gracefully cross genres, with echoes of soul, roots, and even Americana woven throughout the tapestry of sound she’s created on the new collection.
Despite the accolades and her estimable talent, Sicilia considers her music a restless work in progress. “I see myself as always evolving, reaching for a new place where I want my music to be and a way I want it to sound,” she says. “I don’t know if I’ll find that place, but I’ll never stop searching.”
