Janey Street is an American singer and songwriter born and raised in New York City. As an artist, she's recorded several albums in her early career for Warner Brothers /  Reprise, Capitol Records and also for Arista Records under the guidance of legendary music mogul Clive Davis. "Under the Clock" was a Billboard Top 20 A/C hit. VH-1 picked up the accompanying music video which received frequent airplay building Janey's fanbase. The single "Say Hello to Ronnie" charted on the Billboard pop chart.

Street spent many years on the road playing small clubs and 20,000-seat venues through out the US and Canada. She opened for the Bee Gees, Melanie, Richie Havens, John Hammond Jr., Livingston Taylor, Janis Ian, Odetta, to name a few; plus frequent television appearances. Her work received critical acclaim in many industry magazines.

In 2009, Street self-released her blues album The Street Less Traveled with success on the blues charts in the US. Produced by Fred Mollin, the Nashville recording included legendary musicians John Jorgensen, Kerry Marks, Larry Paxton, Catherine Styron, Eddie Bayers, Jim Hoke and Neil Rosegarden. Bill Davis and Chip Davis provided background vocals.

Janey's songs have been recorded by such artists as the famous blues singer Ruth Brown (on the Grammy-nominated CD, A Good Day for the Blues), Janis Ian (a track Street produced and also co-wrote with Ian), Eric Anderson, Dutch artist Judith (Holland), Japanese artist Maria, and others. Two of Street's songs are featured in the upcoming motion picture Food Fight, an animated movie starring Charlie Sheen, Hilary Duff, and Eva Longoria. These songs will also appear on the film's CD soundtrack. As well, her songs have been featured in the television shows The Young and the RestlessOne Life to LiveRock 'N Roll Evening NewsStreet Shadows, and the films Promised Land (performed by James Newton Howard) and White Winter Heat.

Street moved to Hermosa Beach, CA early in her career and has since relocated to Nashville, TN where for several years she has been completely immersed in the music scene. She continues to write and collaborate with some of the industry's top writers in LA, New York, and Nashville. Writers such as Gary Burr, Stephanie Bently, Liz Rose, Janis Ian, Billy Lawson, Wayne Carson and others. Her live performances are sought out events.
