Just in time for the holidays, Cindy Alexander recently finished recording a three-song EP titled Christmas Is Here. To purchase directly from Blue Elan, click here.
Cindy's take on the title track, which was originally written and recorded by the band Survivor (remember "Eye of the Tiger" and "The Search is Over"?) in 2002, is absolutely perfect. The other two songs that comprise the EP are "For Auld Lang Syne" (written by Cindy and Dave Darling) and a magnificent cover of Joni Mitchell's "River." "For Auld Lang Syne" is a song about forgiveness, gratitude, and the chance to start all over again. While not necessarily considered a Christmas song, "River" conjures up great holiday imagery and fits in really nicely with the other two tracks.
Dave Darling, who produced Cindy's new album, Curve, produced the first two tracks on the Christmas Is Here EP. Paul Trudeau produced "River."
