The first single "Perry" from Rod Melancon's upcoming EP LA 14 and follow up to his critically acclaimed Parish Lines premieres it's music video today on TheAlternateRoot.com. The video was shot in Kansas City by director Christopher Good and tells the story of troubled family member whose life was cut short amidst a violent lifestyle and drug addiction.
Melancon says, "Perry is a story about cousin I never met. His fighting ways and run ins with the law cost him his life a year before I was born. My Dad would tell me stories about him and Mom was worried I'd turn out like him after I was arrested for a few fights during my teenage years. He became a sort of legendary figure in my mind. A person that could've been played by Paul Newman or Marlon Brando."
