Blue Élan Records SXSW 2019 Showcase Artists:

*The RembrandtsThe evening will highlight their exciting return! Yes, that Rembrandts – hand claps and all from “I’ll Be There for You” otherwise known as the Friends theme. The band will be playing songs culled from their much-anticipated album of all new material entitled Via Satellite, set for release this August.

*The Vegabonds – The Alabama born, Nashville-bred, southern rock band delivers their 5th album and first for Blue Élan. Produced by Tom Tapley (Blackberry Smoke, Sugarland, Mastodon), “V” audibly illustrates the band’s unconventional yet contagious brand of Southern rock and highlights the best of The Vegabonds’ unique musicianship, vocals, lyrics and sound. The quintet has opened for such notable acts as Lynyrd Skynyrd, the late Gregg Allman and Kid Rock among others.

*Red Wanting Blue- Columbus, OH road warriors hailed as “Midwestern rock heroes” by American Songwriter, RWB has spent the last twenty years establishing themselves as one of the indie world’s most energetic rock bands, notching appearances everywhere from Letterman to NPR.  Their latest album, The Wanting, was produced by acclaimed singer/songwriter Will Hoge, and their newest single, “I’ve Got A Feeling it Hurts” is a stunning duet with Liz Brasher.

*Rod Melancon- Austin-based rock songwriter/guitarist and recently featured in Rolling Stone’s Top 10 New Songs, Rod’s soon to be released album, Pinkville, will be out on April 5th. Rod calls Austin, TX home now, but grew up in the swamps of south Louisiana, and writes about the colorful imagery he experienced there.  His influences are varied, as can be heard in his Tom Waits cover, “Goin’ Out West.”

*Chelsea Williams – A CMT ‘On The Rise’ featured artist whose latest album landed her a spot on Rolling Stone’s list of 10 new country artists to watch, saying, “Boomerang… offers an impressive array of soundscapes but still manages to keep things refreshingly simple and honest.”

*Amy WilcoxThe Laurel Canyon leaning newcomer who Rolling Stone recently said “…had Stevie Nicks ditched Fleetwood Mac and joined Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers circa Damn the Torpedoes.” Her debut EP, West, takes its ‘sonic inspiration from the breezy, desolate vibes of the American West’ and is set for release on March 15th.

Please join us upstairs at Lamberts for an exciting evening with some of the best live music at the festival. Entry is subject to official SXSW Showcase rules.
