Red Wanting Blue Joins Blue Élan for Upcoming Album
We are proud to announce the newest addition to the Blue Elan roster, the mid-western rock band, Red Wanting Blue. Their new album, The Wanting, will be released on April 27th and the band will launch a full U.S. tour on May 3rd continuing on through June 30th. Full tour dates can be found by clicking here.
“We are delighted to welcome Red Wanting Blue to our label family. We’ve been fans for quite a while, so it’s a pleasure to be able to release their next album,” said Kirk Pasich, owner of Blue Élan Records.
Adds Red Wanting Blue’s Scott Terry, “This album has been a real labor of love for us…so much so that it’s garnered the title The Wanting which was drawn from our band’s name, Red Wanting Blue. I guess you can say it’s our way of paying homage to our journey. So to have a label that call itself Blue Élan emerge out of the West Coast woodwork interest in partnering up and excited about releasing this record? Well…we’re not a wildly superstitious bunch, but we can’t help feel like this is a bit of a kismet. It’s got us hopeful for the future of this album. We want this music to reach as far and wide as possible. If Blue Élan can help us make that a reality…it’s going to be a great partnership.”
The Wanting is the band’s 11th album to date. Over the course of 10 studio albums, they brought their passionate, unforgettable live show to every city and town that would have them, blazing their own distinctive trail through the American heartland as they build up the kind of fanatically dedicated audiences normally reserved for arena acts.
Red Wanting Blue has released 10 full-length albums previously: Velveteen (1996), Image Trigger (1998), Model Citizen (2000), Sirens (2001), Souvenirs of City Life (2002), Pride: The Cold Lover (2004), The Warehouse Sessions (2006), These Magnificent Miles (2008 & re-release, 2010), From The Vanishing Point (2011) and Little America (2014).
In 2016, they celebrated with a 20th anniversary retrospective album/concert film entitled ‘RWB20 Live at Lincoln Theater,’ which captured the band in all their glory at a sold-out hometown show in Columbus, OH.
Throughout their career, they landed in the Top 10 of Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and at #1 for the band’s home region. They earned raves from Rolling Stone to Esquire and made appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman, VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live, and NPR’s Mountain Stage.
